Some Rice for a Smile

Some Rice for a Smile

There are about 1.5 million street children in the Philippines…

Every grain counts

“Some Rice for a Smile” is a program created by the Jacky Robert Foundation, a heartwarming non-profit organization founded by renowned Chef Jacky Robert. Our mission is to bring nourishment and joy to underprivileged children in the Philippines, one bowl of rice at a time. We believe that every child deserves access to nutritious food and the opportunity for a brighter future.

We understand that hunger can be an obstacle to education, health, and overall well-being. There are about 1.5 million street children in the Philippines. They are thin, untidy, and undernourished, hardly equipped to survive the hazards of everyday living and working on the streets.

Some of the hazards they face include sickness, physical injuries from vehicular accidents, street fights, harassment from extortionists and police, sexual exploitation by pedophiles and pimps, exposure to substance abuse and sexually transmitted diseases.

Since 2011, Chef Jacky Robert and Gabriel Mangubat have been working tirelessly alongside the Social Welfare Administration of Dasmarinas Cavite, sourcing and delivering high-quality rice directly to those who need it most.

Together with your support, we can make a lasting impact on countless young lives – because sometimes all it takes is some rice for a smile.
